Understanding The Carbohydrate Addicts Diet
The carbohydrate addicts diet has proven its success to help people with the problem of “carbohydrates addict”. These people mostly are they who have the problem of obesity or overweight. These people are failed to process the food, especially carbohydrates, into energy, as normal people does. The reason behind this is maybe because of the elevating insulin in the blood, so that these people always craving for food, especially carbohydrates.
Yet, it should be noted that the carbohydrate addicts diet is not designed for other people than them having the “carbohydrates addiction” problem. The diet is conducted by controlling the fat-storing insulin by reducing the consumption of carbohydrates in daily meal. This will lead to the chain effect: when less insulin is released, less fat is stored, and more fat will burn up. The less insulin that is released by the body will allow the brain to control the appetite, by releasing serotonin, the biochemical that brings the satiety feeling.
The carbohydrate addicts diet is conducted by separating meals into three parts per day in the first two weeks. You can have the two parts with what is called Complimentary Meals, consisting of three or four ounces of fish or meat, or two ounces of cheese, completed with two cups of vegetables of salad. The third part is called the Reward Meal, where you can eat everything that you want, in any quantity. Still, it should be nourishing and well balanced. The three meals can be selected to be the dinner, lunch, or even the breakfast.
After the first two weeks of the carbohydrate addicts diet, the consumption of food is planned depending on the goal that you want, whether you want it to lose more weight, or just maintain the weight after you lose some of it. Snacks are allowed, as long as it does not contain high carbohydrates such as breads, pastas, snack foods, or sweets.
